Our Sunday evening worship services are informal and relaxed, yet highly creative and compelling. Each service combines thought-provoking and inspiring messages, with sophisticated, moving music from several genres. Calvary Live at 5 offers an authentic and multi-sensory worship experience that is woven together with music to inspire the imagination and refresh the soul. People who attend are often surprised by the simple informality but creative impact of the service. They leave feeling recharged, renewed and ready for the week ahead.
Some weeks we will add things before and after the service that you can participate in such as talks on special topics, art activities related to the evening’s theme, serving/mission projects, or refreshments and a chance to just hang out with others.
We love kids. Children and youth are definitely welcome and encouraged to participate in the services.
What will the music be like?
Music at these services is performed by, San Francisco’s own, the exciting Dave Scott Quartet, a group comprising jazz greats Dave Scott, Scott Foster, Daniel Fabricant and Surya Prakasha. An array of exciting Bay Area vocalists and instrumentalists will be joining members of the Dave’s quartet between February and May. In the weeks ahead we’ll hear soul, jazz, blues, Brazilian guitar and more.
Each service covers a unique theme, exploring how music often serves as a metaphor for life—the ups, downs, and everything in between. All are welcome. If you’re new, here’s what to expect
Specifics for upcoming services can be found on the Calvary events calendar.
