Senior Adults—Calvary members and non-members alike—are welcome every Tuesday from September to June at Calvary to enjoy lively fellowship in a convivial atmosphere. Our schedule includes speakers, performers, movies, holiday events, and field trips. Some Tuesdays we serve a hot lunch prepared at Calvary for a modest fee ($2), other days we ask that you bring a brown bag lunch from home, or pick up a sandwich from one of the delis across the street (we provide drinks and dessert). Email Marion Stanton to be included on the newsletter mailing list. firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kingdoms of Faith: Christians, Jews, Muslims and Christians Again in Spain
Historian Nancy Padgett returns, this time with a talk about southern Spain. How did people of different faiths co-exist as neighbors over long periods of time? Did they co-habit peacefully and happily, or begrudgingly? Or did they engage in all-out war? Did their faiths strengthen ‘neighborliness’ or undermine it? And, are there take-aways for modern times? Bring a brown bag lunch.
