Please join us in the Library Lounge for an introduction to the art exhibit, God’s Great Earth.
A reception with light refreshments will follow.
Come and see how Calvary children and youth view our earth. All ages will submit art work based on the theme of “God’s Great Earth.” Art reminds us of nature and creatures great and small that exist interdependently with human beings. We can be stewards of our planet in many ways.
The exhibit will run January 26 through March 1.
Psalm 104:24-25 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
Our Lord, by your wisdom
you made so many things;
the whole earth is covered
with your living creatures.
But what about the ocean
so big and wide?
It is alive with creatures,
large and small.
Job 12:7-10 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
If You Want To Learn
If you want to learn,
then go and ask
the wild animals and the birds,
the flowers and the fish.
Any of them can tell you
what the Lord has done.
Every living creature
is in the hands of God.
Calvary is saddened to announce that staff member, Michael Schlatter, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2020. His quick wit and fantastic skepticism will be greatly missed. Mike worked at Calvary for 7 years and previous to that he taught high school art classes and owned his own art installation business in San Francisco, serving the entire Bay Area. He installed Calvary art shows with the Fine Arts Team, created Calvary signage, and was a great teammate to Liz Johnson and Keith Samuel in maintaining Calvary’s facilities. We honor his life and the way he connected with our community. Join us on Sunday, January 26 at 11:30 am in the Calvary Library Lounge where Calvary staff, members and friends will celebrate Mike by dedicating the Calvary Children & Youth Art Show, “God’s Great Earth” in his memory before the show and reception begin.
