Because You Were Foreigners…

This Sunday we invited the entire community to remember the importance of making for ALL in God’s family. The service began with a time of prayer as we lift up the name of each victim of the Orlando/Pulse massacre. We then observed World Refugee Sunday, with guest speaker Almaz Negash of the African Diaspora Network. We welcomed everyone seeking peace and reminded the world that hate does NOT get the last word.

This Week’s Sermon Was Drawn From the Following Scriptures

Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.

Matthew 25:25-36

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
