Calvary Has Many Opportunities For Connecting With Each Other And With The Greater Bay Area Community. Just let us know who you are and what you are interested in via the form. Check as many things as you like. If you prefer, call us at 415 346 3832 and we’ll connect you with the right person.

Are You a Visitor or New to Calvary?

Are you new to Calvary or just looking for a way to get more involved? We welcome you. Also, please check out: New Here? What to Expect.

Are you a young adult in your 20’s and 30’s?

The CYA (Calvary Young Adult) group offers a number of activities, focusing on the following areas: Bible Study – to feed your soul, Mission & Outreach – to feed others’, and Social Activities – which includes activities to feed your stomach.
Young adults of all ages, orientations, and stages (married & unmarried, single & unsingle) are welcome! If you’re interested in learning more, please email and we can add you to the newsletter.

Mission & Outreach:

If there’s a volunteering activity you like, we probably have a service offering planned during the year. We volunteer with Calvary’s partners in the “Breaking Cycles of Poverty” initiative, including Raphael House (where we’ve organized group birthday parties for the kids staying there) and the Boys & Girls Club (with tutoring and coaching). We also regularly volunteer at the Martin de Porres soup kitchen and with Habitat for Humanity.

In November 2018 CYA attended a mission trip to the border in Nogales, Mexico. We hope to hold more opportunities for short-term mission service in this country and abroad.

Spending time to get to know other young adults at Calvary is important, and towards that end we host a monthly happy hour on the third Wednesday of each month, picking a different bar in neighborhoods throughout the city. We have been known to enjoy a good picnic brunch in Alta Park after service Sunday. And we try to organize additional fellowship opportunities throughout the year, such as our annual Christmas Party, to fun group running events (everyone needs something to train for!) as well as the church offsite to Mt. Hermon in the Santa Cruz Mountains or ski trips to Tahoe.

Bible Study & Faith Formation:

The Young Adults is a caring community, and we plan regular Bible studies (either church-wide or exclusive-to-CYA) and also book clubs. These meet-up’s serve as forums for young adults to share where and how they have responded to God’s call, and how they live out their faith in their day to day lives.

Are You Sixty Plus?

Senior Adults—Calvary members and non-members alike—are welcome every Tuesday from September to June at Calvary to enjoy lively fellowship in a convivial atmosphere. Attendees range in age from 60 to 90+. Our schedule includes speakers, performers, movies, holiday events and field trips. Some Tuesdays we serve a hot lunch prepared at Calvary for a modest fee ($2), other days we ask that you bring a brown bag lunch from home, or pick up a sandwich from one of the delis across the street (we provide drinks and dessert). Check out the events section on the web site, pick up a flyer in the lobby outside of Calvin Hall.

All-Church Retreat at Mount Hermon

Mount Hermon is Calvary’s annual all-church retreat that takes place in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains every fall. Each year we welcome a wonderful speaker and facilitator to guide us through the weekend. There are opportunities for discussion, recreation, fellowship, and relaxation. This is a wonderful atmosphere to renew and refresh, and get to know other Calvary folks. Join us for this fulfilling weekend of faith, fellowship, family and fun.

Bible Study Groups

Calvary offers a number of Bible studies for those interested in studying the Lord’s Word, and engaging in thought-provoking discussions about Scripture, faith, prayer, and other similar topics. Group Bible study is an excellent way for people to discuss God’s teachings and what they hold for us in our day-to-day lives and relationships.

Spiritual Growth & Education

Calvary offers Sunday morning classes to feed the brain as well as the spirit. We regularly welcome esteemed speakers that offer both one-time classes and discussions as well as multi-week series. This is a great opportunity to meet other people with similar interests! Check the events calendar  for upcoming classes.

It takes a village! Are you a parent who would like to get to know other parents in the Calvary community? Parents gather quarterly for a fun dinner out in the Calvary neighborhood while our kids have a blast with games and quality care at Calvary.
