Board of Deacons

Calvary Presbyterian Church has a 36-member Board of Deacons, charged with providing a point of personal contact for each of our members. Deacons serve their fellow members by greeting new visitors to Calvary, visiting the sick, taking flowers, food and conversation to those unable to leave their homes.

Some of the most valued programs of Calvary's Deacons over the years include:

- Administering Calvary's confidential prayer line (415.346.3832 x 67), which collects requests for special prayers, regardless of church membership status
- Serving the annual group Thanksgiving Dinner to Calvary members and friends away from home
- Raphael House's "Adopt-a-Family" program, purchasing Christmas gifts and grocery certificates for families escaping homelessness
